Ruth Cornish
FOUNDER & DIRECTOR

Ruth is Founder and Director of Amelore. Prior to founding Amelore, she has held a number of senior leadership roles for companies including Mazars, ABN Amro, Charterhouse, Old Mutual GNI and The Environment Agency.
Having been an independent chief people officer since 2010, Ruth provides leadership, executive coaching and strategic challenge to a wide range of organisations. Ruth has built a reputation of approaching challenges flexibly and creatively and for bringing a wealth of insight that helps get to the core of the matter. Applying a fresh and personable approach, she uses her expertise to enable businesses and individuals to grow, thrive and flourish.
Ruth is a passionate advocate for the HR profession and uses her independent status to share her HR vision, advising and challenging her fellow HR colleagues across the industry. She was proud to be recognised by her peers as one of the most influential thinkers in HR in 2021 and 2022 by HR Magazine.
She is also a renowned speaker in the HR space, a regular guest on BBC Radio and news and a guest HR panel expert for Radio 4’s Moneybox.
Outside of work and family life, Ruth enjoys getting outside and soaking up the peace and tranquility of the Cotswolds where she lives.
Alex Wilkinson
OPERATIONS MANAGER

Alex is the Operations Manager at Amelore. She has over 25 years’ corporate administrative and HR experience, and now works as a virtual assistant at Amelore. Alex is CIPD qualified and has held executive assistant roles at many large corporations, including Nestle, Credit Suisse and Ernst and Young. Alex takes a systematic and efficient approach to the Amelore systems, ensuring that the organisation is continually able to adapt and grow, whilst also providing services to clients quickly and efficiently.
When she’s not busy with family life, Alex enjoys her time in the kitchen experimenting with new recipes. Her greatest passion is baking. She likes nothing more than cooking up a Saturday night feast for family and friends.
Katy McMinn
SENIOR HR CONSULTANT

Katy is a senior HR consultant at Amelore. She has over 20 years HR experience, initially working in-house in blue chip companies and professional services organisations, such as General Electric and Ernst and Young, before moving into HR consultancy nine years ago.
Katy thrives on challenge and variety, always taking a pragmatic and proactive approach to ensure clients get the commercial advice they need to make the right decisions for their business. In addition Katy specialises in Organisational Development and is an inspirational coach and recruiter.
When Katy switches off from the working day, her focus turns to her family and sports. Whether that be supporting her three children in their various sporting pursuits or carving time out for her own activities, with women’s cricket being her current favourite.
Lucy Carter
SENIOR HR CONSULTANT

Lucy is a Senior HR Consultant at Amelore. MCIPD qualified, and with over 20 years of HR experience both in-house within professional services organisations, and externally in HR consultancy, Lucy delivers unparalleled expertise. Over the years Lucy has worked with teams across the UK, EMEA and Globally for organisations such as Pinsent Masons, EY and Jones Lang LaSalle.
One of Lucy’s strengths is being able to understand complex issues and offering her clients practical and simple advice. She has a passion for helping teams and individuals progress from good to great and brings skills of leadership and organisational development. She is also a qualified coach.
Outside of work, Lucy enjoys attending live events, whether that be comedy performances, musicals, or theatre.
Carolyn Leigh
SENIOR HR CONSULTANT

Carolyn is a Senior Consultant at Amelore. An experienced HR professional with a deep understanding of HR practices, policies and procedures, Carolyn has a proven track record of successfully implementing HR strategies across a myriad of sectors, including, but not limited to, professional services, online travel, and technology. Carolyn has a wealth of experience across employee relations, reward and recognition strategies, organisational design and performance and talent management.
As a Senior Consultant, Carolyn is passionate about collaborating and partnering with her clients and acting as their trusted advisor. She is a keen problem solver, spending time finding the most commercial solutions for her client’s HR activities.
In her spare time Carolyn’s main passion is her dog, Ruby. She and Ruby like nothing more than going for long walks together.
Julie Collier
SENIOR HR CONSULTANT

Julie is a senior HR consultant at Amelore. MCIPD qualified and with 30 years of HR experience working for Lloyds and Nationwide, Julie moved into HR consultancy four years ago, working across many different sectors.
A credible, commercially focused and intuitive leader, she has a reputation for quickly understanding the bigger picture and translating ideas into operational requirements. Julie is a specialist in employee relations and employment law and focuses on providing pragmatic support to employers with complex people management and policy issues.
Outside of work, Julie enjoys spending time with her family and embraces being a Grandma to her two grandchildren. Julie shares her time between her home in Bristol and her holiday home in Spain.
Jessica Chhana
HR CONSULTANT & HEAD OF HR HELPDESK

Jessica has over 12 years HR in-house operational experience, having worked in large telecoms businesses, such as O2. A passionate go getter with a wealth of experience in HR and people management, Jessica has built her vast experience in employee relations by focusing on pro-active measures, such as manager upskilling and coaching, as well as case management.
Highly organised and efficient, Jessica is driven by helping to build confidence in others and enjoys seeing the people and organisations she works with flourish. As Head of the Amelore HR helpdesk, Jessica utilises her wealth of operational experience to support our clients on the ground with their day-to-day needs, delivering both precision and exceptional client service.
One of Jessica’s biggest passions is food, both eating and cooking it. She loves nothing more than to experiment with different flavours and methods in the kitchen. She also enjoys watching football with her family both on TV and in person.
Laura Reilly
HR CONSULTANT

Laura is a HR consultant at Amelore. With over 15 years of private and non-profit experience, Laura is a highly qualified HR professional. Laura specialises in employment law, talent acquisition and development, organisational development, employment relations and litigation. One of Laura’s most instrumental skills is driving cultural change and maintaining a sense of team spirit.
Laura is a Fellow of the Institute of Leadership and Management, a Chartered member of The Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD), an Associate Chartered Institute of Legal Executives member with a certificate in employment practice, and a qualified Paralegal.
In her spare time, Laura enjoys playing netball, spending time with her family and winning the odd pub quiz. She also holds a full motorbike licence and can occasionally be seen in full leathers taking a ride out.
Lisa Gardner
HR ADMINISTRATOR

Lisa is the HR Administrator at Amelore. Lisa has over 35 years’ experience in Operational Business Administration roles across a variety of sectors including finance, education, travel, third sector, utilities and retail, to name but a few. Prior to joining Amelore, Lisa held senior management roles at Bravissimo, RICS and Capita Business Services.
With a master’s degree in business management and administration, Lisa works and thinks at both an operational and strategic level. Lisa is service orientated with a focus on people. She is absolutely committed to providing her customers with an exceptional service experience.
When Lisa is not in the office, she’s most likely enjoying the great outdoors, whether that be gardening, paddleboarding or cycling. Travel is another of Lisa’s passions and she loves to explore with her husband, touring Europe on their beloved motorbike.
Serena Holdsworth
FINANCE MANAGER

Serena is the Finance Manager at Amelore. With over 25 years of experience working across a variety of industries, such as media and communications, telecoms and public sector, and with her AATQB qualification, Serena has a wealth of experience.
Serena has many strings to her bow, and has been involved in a huge variety of projects over the years. Perhaps most notable was when she organised the logistics for a Guinness Book of Records expedition to Antarctica.
In her spare time, Serena enjoys walking her two naughty Border Terrier dogs in the countryside with her family and going boating. Serena and her family also have a passion for travel and learning about other cultures.
